Naked you are blue like the night in Cuba, you have vines and stars in your hair,

Pablo Neruda
About This Quote

Blue is the color associated with truth and sincerity. The night in Cuba was the time where the rebels, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, were taking over the island. When they were taken to prison, Che wrote in his diary that he had blue hair and blue skin like the night in Cuba. His skin was covered with tattoos and he had vines growing out of his head.

One day, he was able to escape from prison; however, he was wounded and still wore the scars on his body. He walked all through the night until he reached his destination. When he got there, he was surrounded by crowds who cheered him on.

They gave him glory because of his bravery to fight for what was right even though it cost him everything.
